Podgorica, Montenegro (16 December 2019) -- Montenegrin citizens rightly expect a high level of competence, responsibility and efficiency in all professions of the justice system, Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Interior and Foreign Policy Zoran Pažin stated earlier today at the opening of the conference "Professional behaviour and responsibility of public bailiffs" in Budva. "That is why fulfilling of these legitimate expectations of citizens is the only true measure of success of all professions in the judicial system and the success of the overall reform of the judicial system," the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out.

DPM Pažin: Amended bill safeguards freedom of religion and protects cultural heritage of Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro(5 December 2019) -- At today’s session the Government of Montenegro adopted the amended Bill on Freedom of Religion, which fully incorporates all the recommendations of the Venice Commission of June 2019, Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Pažin told the press on Thursday. "In line with the highest international legal standards in this area, first and foremost the European Convention on Human Rights, the 2004 and 2014 guidelines of the OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission and, now, all the recommendations of the Venice Commission’s opinion of June this year, we have produced a modern and, by regional standards, very liberal legal text, which allows every citizen to be or not to be a follower of a religious community, while the state protects the property and cultural heritage belonging to all citizens of Montenegro and at the same time, ensures that the laws of the state of Montenegro apply throughout its territory...
